The South Asia earthquake of 8 October 2005 devastated the lives of 3.5 million people. Thousands were injured and disabled; survivors lost their livelihoods and were left traumatized and homeless. Most schools were destroyed, disrupting education for and entire generation. Thousands of people stranded in mountain valleys or forced in to temporary camps will need to rebuild their homes and to restore their livelihoods.
This huge disaster changes the situation of the Kashmiri territory and also the style of the community. KRRC decided to capture this miserable condition of the people for future references.
36 hours of video recording hundreds of photographs, hours of interviews with victims, survivors, govt. officials, politicians and rescue workers were performed to record the disaster for making historical record. Assad Zia (KCT) managed this project.
